Curly-leaf pondweed removal
June 10, 2020
Several ICORE members were part of a volunteer curly-leaf pondweed removal effort last weekend. Curly-leaf pondweed is an invasive aquatic plant that can outcompete native underwater plants, form dense mats that interfere with recreational activities, and cause an increase in phosphorus concentrations and algae blooms in a body of water. This volunteer work day was part of an effort to reduce the spread of this invasive species into the Turtle Flambeau Flowage and Trude Lake.
