Land Trusts and Conservation Easements in Iron County
April 16 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pmFree
Bryan Pierce, executive director of the Northwoods Land Trust, will offer a presentation on land trusts with an emphasis on conservation easements and purchases in Iron County at 6:30 p.m. on April 16, 2019 at the Mercer Public Library. (PLEASE NOTE: This date is tentative. Please check back for final details.)
The Northwoods Land Trust was incorporated in 2001 as a nonprofit, tax-exempt conservation organization. The organization grew out of regional lake leader training workshops where lake property owners expressed a need for permanent protection options for natural lake shorelands. Lake protection remains among the highest priorities for NWLT.
Bryan Pierce has served as NWLT Executive Director since 2004. In 2013, the Northwoods Land Trust earned the Land Trust Seal of Accreditation from the National Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
Since their inception, the Northwoods Land Trust has assisted many private landowners in conserving their family lands for generations to come. Because of their work in seven northwoods counties, over 11,000 acres of woodlands, wetlands and wildlife habitat, and 60 miles of natural lake, river and stream frontage are protected forever.
