Hurley Trail Update

ICORE continues to work with the Cities of Hurley and Montreal on a proposed walking and biking trail between the two communities, and connecting to the Iron Belle Trail in Michigan. Most of the proposed route would use a former railroad grade owned by CN. CN is currently working with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to officially abandon the 2.9 miles of railroad grade between Hurley and Montreal. Once that process is complete, CN indicated they will be ready to discuss a land sale with the City of Hurley. ICORE has taken the lead on fundraising and grant assistance that would allow Hurley to purchase the railroad grade. We are hopeful the land could be purchased this year.

ICORE has received a bike repair station that it plans to install at the Hurley Trailhead. We are looking for someone to install a 6 ft. x 6 ft. concrete structure to place the station on.
