Help Protect Wisconsin’s Frogs And ToadsWhen Wisconsin’s frogs and toads emerge in spring, they can create a symphony of sound that fills the evening air around their wetland area habitats. With April here, it’s time to begin another season of the long-running Wisconsin Frog and Toad Survey, a volunteer-driven effort that plays a key role in management of the state’s frog and toad species. The spring issue of Wisconsin Natural Resources magazine explores the details of the survey, which serves as another example of the excellent public support from Wisconsinites on behalf of the state’s natural resources. You also can check out a short YouTube video featuring photos of Wisconsin frog species along with the animals’ related calls so you can learn to identify all the frog and toad sounds you hear! Subscribe to the magazine online or by calling 1-800-678-9472 to receive the spring issue. You also can renew or give a subscription as a gift today. Photo credit: Rori Paloski |
