Happy Wanders March 6th

This week we are going to hike the Hidden Rivers Trail. The cold nights should ensure that the gravel road into Fisherman’s Landing stays stable, and the trail itself has been picked clear of sticks and twigs, so it should be hiker-friendly. The hike is 2 miles. We will meet at the trailhead at 10 am. There’s plenty of parking. To get there from Mercer, go north on Hwy 51 to Cranberry Inn. Turn left onto County Road FF and go 1 mile to Popko Circle East. Turn left onto Popko and go 7 miles to Fisherman’s Landing Road. You will pass Wilson Lake, and also the Trude Lake Landing sign, but then you are getting close. Watch on your left for the sign for Fisherman’s Landing. Turn left and drive about 1/2 mile, but turn into the “overflow” parking lot on your left before you reach the outhouse. If you want a carpool from Cranberry, you need to speak up so others coming that way will know, and you should plan to allow 20 minutes drive time from Cranberry to Fisherman’s. Weatherman says partly sunny with moderate winds, and highs in the 40’s, so it should be a great day! Hope to see you there.
