Heritage Chapter July Work Weekend
Heritage Chapter July Work Weekend
Our main focus’ will be trail construction along the Potato River north of Foster Falls and Sullivan Fire Lane.
Where To Stay: We have free camping available Friday and Saturday in Copper Falls State Park at Overflow Site 2 (Hwy 169, just north of Mellen). Remember you will need a sticker pass on your vehicle if camping with us overnight.
If you don’t feel like camping, you can rent the Cozy Valley Lodge, a vacation rental home on the Thewis Family Farm (hosts of a section of the NCT). It is the perfect place for a trail crew or hikers to hang out. And you are only a few hundred yards from the Trailhead on Hwy 169. See Cozy Valley Lodge on Facebook or call Michael Thewis at 715-681-0558 for availability and reservations.
Where And When To Meet: Please meet at the entrance station at Copper Falls State Park on Hwy 169 just east of Mellen at 8am on Saturday and Sunday mornings for tools, directions and carpooling.
What To Bring: Please bring your own water (2 liters), trail lunch, snacks and bug repellent
Meals: The chapter provides dinner after work on Saturday.
Thank you volunteers for all you do to support the North Country National Scenic Trail. Without volunteers there would not be a trail.
