Heritage Chapter November Work Weekend – Saturday Nov. 2 & 3

Our main focus will be trail construction along the Potato River north of Foster Falls and Sullivan Fire Lane.  Volunteers may choose to help both days or just one of the days.

Where And When To Meet: Please meet at the entrance station at Copper Falls State Park on Hwy 169 just east of Mellen at 8am on Saturday and Sunday mornings for tools, directions and carpooling.

What To Bring: Please bring your own water (2 liters), trail lunch, snacks and bug repellent

Meals: The chapter provides dinner after work on Saturday.

Thank you volunteers for all you do to support the North Country National Scenic Trail.

Without volunteers there would not be a trail.

If you are coming from a long distance there are camping and lodging options:

Where To Stay: We have free camping available Friday and Saturday in Copper Falls State Park at Overflow Site 2 (Hwy 169, just north of Mellen). Remember you will need a sticker pass on your vehicle if camping with us overnight.

The Heritage Chapter may rent the Cozy Valley Lodge, a vacation rental home on the Thewis Family Farm (on HWY 169 just north of the NCT Trailhead). Space is limited in this home, so you should reserve your space by Private Messaging Chapter Vice-President Bethany Thomas directly.
