ICORE sponsors Hurley trail head work day
On Mother’s Day, May 13, 2018, ten ICORE members gathered at the trailhead of the new bike trail in Hurley for a volunteer work day.
The group picked up litter, raked and planted grass seed where the lawn was bare, then covered the seed with straw and watered. They planted numerous trees and shrubs contributed by the Iron County Land and Water Conservation Department. Stoffel’s Country Store donated topsoil and mulch.
They also installed a picnic table, a bike rack and two benches, all built by Hurley students with Northwoods Manufacturing.
Thank you to our dedicated ICORE volunteers and to the community partners that made this event possible!
